Incubating Your Company

"Most successful, profitable businesses do not exist merely by chance. They are an act of creation. They are the result of a process infused with intent and strategic design at the systems, operations and marketing levels. Incubation is the process through which the intent and strategic design is imparted to the companies we work with. We deliver this to the companies that trust us and work with us."

- Chad Lefevre, Senior Director Strategic Development

Please review this entire page before contacting us to apply as a client. Due to the high demand and inquiry flow, we kindly ask that all our potential clients are aware of the KCM process in order to maximize efficiencies and level of service.

Thinking about going public? Need to raise capital? Unsure about how to design your operational systems? Wondering if you are getting the biggest bang for your sales and marketing buck? Got a new idea that could be worth billions if you only knew where to begin? Struggling with your self-employed small business and need to drive revenue?

If these or some other challenge describes the state of your business, you may be an ideal candidate for KCM incubation assistance.

How It Works

Every KCM incubation venture is structured differently depending on the needs of the incubation client, the state of the client and the challenges the client is experiencing. In addition, some companies only require a certain amount of support because they are farther along than others.

KCM offers companies considering KCM incubation services a FREE extensive incubation consultation to determine whether and what level of incubation is right for your company. Book an incubation consultation today.

Upfront Fees

Generally KCM incubation clients pay an upfront fixed retainer amount to initiate the program, design an incubation strategy, and to secure the necessary personnel and strategic resources to build the foundation for their incubation. This upfront retainer has been as low as $15,000, with some clients paying over $200,000 for larger ventures. The retainer is dependant on the incubation client's needs. KCM is open to creative financing structures which may include stock if the company is publicly traded.

After beginning the relationship, if before a certain level of time and resources are committed by KCM, the client may wish to terminate the project and receive a refund on retainer. KCM understands that a "courting" period is always important and is happy to refund retainers less any hard costs or penalties.

In addition, to ensure that both KCM and the incubation client are truly working together towards a mutually profitable and successful objective, KCM negotiates with the incubation client a negotiated percentage of ownership of the incubated company or a revenue share ratio with the incubated company of increased revenue from the program or once launched into the market place.

Methodology

Once the investment is agreed upon and the foundation has been laid, the incubation will commence with a collaborative strategic design session with all appropriate incubation client stakeholders and outside experts brought in to advise. This session is designed to identify a comprehensive list of challenges that must be resolved to quickly correct any existing design and operational challenges the incubation client may be struggling with. These challenges will then be addressed and corrected as part of laying the foundation for a healthy and profitable incubation.

Next an incubation strategy is designed, and the necessary tactical elements set in motion to begin the incubational transformation of the company into a successful and profitable venture the market will respond to. These strategic and tactical elements may include, but are not limited to many of the listed incubation services above.

Finally, with the incubation strategies and tactics executed, and all identified deliverables completed, the incubated company is launched into the marketplace.
